The Witches

Title: The Witches
Author: Roald Dahl
ISBN:0-14-031730-9

This book is about witches. The book tells us how to recognize a real witch. Real witches dont ride on a broom or even wear silly black hats. They dress in ordinary clothes and look very much like ordinary women. They live in ordinary houses and they work in ORDINARY JOBS! The witches hates childrens so much that they will do anything to get rid of them. They will work all kinds of horrible spells to get rid of them. But a little boy and his magical grandma is aware of witches. The grandma tells her little grandson about witches. She even told him what they even look like and what they hate the most. But then one day, when the little boy goes up to his old tree house. He meets a witch. They witch said that she had something to give him, which was a small, green snake. But they boy refused to go down. And in the end the little boy meets the actual GRAND HIGH WITCH face to face!

I like the part when the boy meets the Grand High Witch and the part when the grandma tells the little boy how witches really look like. The grandma was being really descriptive. There is a movie to this book but i suggest the book is better, because i thought that the book was way different from the movie. I thought that book was really funny and interesting. It gives alot of details that i can imagine what was happening right away. But the part that i didnt like about the story was when the childrens falled for the treats and they were killed by the witches. I really enjoyed this book and think that people who are really interested in witches should read this book.
