The Cross And The Switch Blade

Title: The cross and the switchblade
Author: David Wilkerson, John and Elizabeth Sherrill
ISBN: 0-8007-9070-7

This is a true story written by David Wilkerson. He have experienced all kinds of miracles by God. He was a preacher in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. One day, he was reading a article about the Dragon gang in New York. The Holy Spirit inspired him to go help the gang members turn back to God. So he travels to New York right away without even having a plan. He knew he doesn't need any plan ,because God is working with him. He tried to evangelize the members of the gangs. He was suggested by Maria, who was a member of the Dragon gang but realized how much God loves her, to go to Brooklyn Bridge to see New York at its worst. He evangelizes a lot of gang members. Later he wants to form a Teen Challenge Center where they could bring boys and girls who needed special help. They would live in an atmosphere of discipline and affection. They would watch Christians living together, working together. But David didn't have any money except for 100 dollars in his account, and he didn't have any people who would help him by working in the Teen Challenge Center without being payed. He prays to God, somehow he manages to earn 12,200 in just one month. Isn't that cool? God works in your life somehow, but we don't realize the work of God. We have to thank God everyday and every moment. I personally think this book is very cool. This shows how God works in our lives and it is the first book about a Christian life. I recommend you to read this book, because there are many things you can learn from this book.
