time. one day, when stanley was going back to home from school, some shoes fell from the sky, when people found out that they were shoes from a famous baseball player, he got a choice, go to jail, or go to camp greenlake. Stanley chose to go to camp greenlake, and he learns friendship and care for eachother. Stanley gets lucky and finds a treasure burried underground, which had the name, "Stanley Yelnats." The ending is.......you just read the book! :)

genre: Holes is a realistic fiction book. It is realistic fiction because it really could happen, stanley walking under a bridge and when the shoes fall in front of him. Also that stanley finds a treause burried in the desert. And a whole lake getting dried up and ending up being a desert. These could really happen!
