By. Patrick Suskind
ISBN : 0-375-72584-9

In 18th century Paris, Jean-Baptiste Grenouille one of the disgust genius who had an extraordinary ability in sense of smell born without his own scent.
Nobody didn't love him and everybody just used him. During his childhood he get many disease. However, he didn't die easily. And one day when people were celebrating succession to the throne, Grenouille smelled very unique, light but heavy, soft like a silk or milk but strong scent and it was impossible to compare to any other scent that he had smelled before. It was a scent of young girl. When he found that scent he killed the girl and took her scent. That event changed Grenouille's life completely.

I read few of Mr. Suskind's books and I always have a question about his brain structural.
Sense of smell.....
What a brilliant writing material is this! I love his ideas and imaginations.
I also love that he use that material to criticising modern urbanite. His literary style that expressing Grenouille's personality is so awesome! There is a part that Grenouille thinking himself in the cave.
He said when he had born in the heap of fish's viscera, the reason that he cried is he chose to live.
This book describe the crazy genius really cool.

Scent. The absolute being to him.
He gained the scent from other people that he doesn't have. He didn't even feel guilty about murdering
people. Instead of guilty he feel pleasure and satisfaction. The desire to things that he didn't get.
I can't imagine how it will be big.
