Title: 2150 A.D.
Author: Thea Alexander
ISBN: 0-446-35649-2
Summary: The story starts out in the year 1976. The main character is Jon Lake, a veteran who had his leg amputated in the Vietnam war. He falls asleep one night and wakes up as an astral spirit in the year 2150 A.D. He is given a new, perfect body and is introduced to the Macro philosophy that guides everyone's actions in 2150 A.D. It turns out that "Micro-man" is about to destroy himself back in 1976, and he has been pulled forward in time so that he can learn the philosophy and "survive" the coming destruction. In the "Macro" world, everything is perfect, and people use psychokinesis, telepathy, etc. People in the Macro world can reincarnate after they die, so that they have another chance to learn from their experiences. Jon "wakes up" and finds that very little time has passed, and that he is still in 1976. However, he still has the memories from 2150.
His best friend, Karl, thinks that Jon is just over reacting to a dream, and he makes Jon promise that if he can't prove that the Macro world exists by showing Karl a power that he learned, he will forget about 2150 and treat it as just a dream. As he is learning his new powers, Jon discovers that he only has three months to achieve a Level 3 Macro awareness, or else he will never be able to return to 2150 in his sleep state again. When he achieves a Level 3 Macro awareness level, he will be able to stay in the year 2150 permanently, but his body will die back in 1976 when he does that.
Opinion: I thought that this was a great book, and it really catches your imagination. Once you have read this book, you will want to adopt a Macro philosophy. This book also has a romance and a good moral. It got me thinking about life and everything around me. It is a must read for everyone, and you will not be able to put it down.
