Title: The Oath
Author: Frank Peretti
ISBN: 0-8499-1178-8
This book is about a guy named Steve Benson. His brother Cliff and his wife Evelyn go on a vacation to a camping ground on a mountain. While they are there, something happens. It was a rainy night and Evelyn and Cliff were attacked by something. Evelyn sees her husband die and runs off to the road. A truck driver sees her with a bloody knife in her hand. When he comes out to help her, she started attacking his truck and then passed out.
Steve went to the hospital Evelyn was staying at. Unable to speak from the accident, Steve goes off trying to find out what had happened to his brother. Him and Deputy Tracy Ellis go out to find clues of what had been going on. Unluckily, they don't find Cliff's body. The only found his left arm detached at his shoulder still inside the shirt sleeve. Everything from his torso to his hip was gone.
They suspect a bear named Number 318. They find him and kill him to find clues, but when they open him up, they had no luck in finding parts of Cliff. There were no human parts found in it. While Steve and Tracy go off to find what attacked Cliff and Evelyn, something mysterious is going on in the town.
I didn't finish this book yet because it is long, but of so far i have read, I think that it is very good. I like how Frank Peretti explains things and how he writes. I think that he is an excellent writer. When I read the first chapter of this book, it took my attention and I couldn't stop reading it. Even if this book is very violent and scary, I enjoy reading it. I think that out of all the Frank Peretti books I have read, this is the best one. Once you start reading this book, you will get addicted to it and you won't stop reading. THIS IS AN AWESOME BOOK! READ IT! I would rate this book a 10 out of 10.
